Excitement builds as we prepare for camp!

Learning and Teaching
In Year 3/4 We Are Learning To....

READING: make inferences about characters and events in texts by using our background knowledge and clues from the text. 
WRITING: understand the structure and features of transactional texts through letters, timetables and creating questions for an interview.
MATHS: interpret simple maps of familiar locations and identify the key locations.
UNIT OF STUDY: explain how communities have changed throughout Australian history and identify how children entertained themselves during their leisure time.
eLEARNINGuse the iPads and Netbooks to support and extend learning through Mathletics and Reading Eggs, and to publish writing. Additionally we are using ICT to support our research into our history unit.

Current notices
 School Camp: Check your camp packing list and start organising all your  belongings to ensure your children have everything they need for a comfortable experience.
Father's Day Breakfast and stall: Come and join us for a hearty breakfast before you head off to work for the day.

Passionate Pursuits: Students have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in extra curricular activities as part of the Passionate Pursuits program.  Did you know that there are also extra curricular activities outside class time such as the Glee Club, Art Antics, Gardening Club and the Running and Circuit groups which run either before school or at lunchtimes? This term students have chosen from a variety of old and new pursuits and will begin them this week! 

Athletics: Students have been training for athletics and a mini athletics carnival will be held on Friday 21st August at school between 9:00 and 10:40am. Parents are invited to come along and watch the events.

Swimming: Beginning Friday 4th of September, grades Prep through to Four will begin a swimming program at the Don Tatnell Leisure Centre. The program will run daily over 10 days. Permission slips should have been returned to school by now to finalise numbers.
